The community is invited to help dedicate the new Mesquite Freedom Park, as our country marks the 15th anniversary of 9/11. The centerpiece of the park is a 15-foot, 575 pound twisted beam recovered from one of the twin towers from the World Trade City in New York. The park will be a place to celebrate the freedoms of art, music, education and assembly. The park will also visitors the opportunity to touch a piece of world history, the steel beam. Genelle Guzman-McMillan, the last survivor to be pulled from the rubble of the fallen towers, will also be in attendance to share her experience.
